Our Mission Statement

The main purpose for Yngwie's Official Fan Club is to create a clearinghouse for his fans, to create a means of getting the information about him and his music out to everyone, from the rabid fans to the just curious.

It is very important to Yngwie and to us that what you find on this site is both timely and accurate. While we strive to upload late-breaking images and news as soon as possible, we will not hastily upload anything without having its accuracy confirmed by Yngwie or his management team. It is more important for us to be accurate than to be first. You can always rely on this site to provide Yngwie's fans with correct, accurate news and updates on his activities and music as soon as it is confirmed by Yngwie and/or his management.

If you have any questions about something you have seen anywhere on the Internet regarding Yngwie, please do not hesitate to e-mail us at YngwieWebmaster@direcway.com. Thanks!

Q: What is the main purpose of a fan club?
Fan clubs help connect fans with a common interest in a particular celebrity, show, or music group and provide them with a means to share information, sell and exchange memorabilia to expand their collections, and keep up to date with the latest happenings of the star. Fan clubs help the celebrities keep the fans informed about their current projects, and also provide fans with a fun and creative outlet for their energy and enthusiasm.

Q: What can I expect to receive when I join a fan club?
When you join a fan club, you can expect to receive some kind of publication which will keep you up to date on current events and club activities - some are printed and some are online. Most clubs maintain websites, which are valuable sources of information about what the club offers, with instructions on how to join.

Q: What should I not expect from a fan club?
You shouldn't join a fan club expecting it to be your ticket to meeting the celebrity. Some fan clubs may offer meet and greet events, but not all fan clubs can do so. Some fan clubs do not have any contact with their honoree at all. You also can't expect a fan club president to forward personal messages to a celebrity or ask for special favors from the celebrity for you. You should join a fan club because you want to get current or interesting information about the celebrity, and you want to communicate with fellow fans about them.

Q: Do fan clubs make a lot of money for the celebrity and/or the fan club president?
The answer is no. Very few fan clubs are set up as businesses, and typically fan clubs are not a money-making proposition. Most staff members are volunteer and receive no payment for their services. While a few celebrities might help a president with fan club costs, most don't, and fan club presidents often have to pay out of their own pockets to keep a club going. Fan clubbing is a labor of love.

Q: Why do I need to send a self-addressed stamped envelope to get information from a fan club through the post office?
Since fan club presidents usually don't make any money running their clubs, and sometimes don't even charge enough to offset all of their costs, it's simply necessary for fans to provide them with return postage to receive information. This is a courtesy that one writing to a fan club should always extend.
